Why The Spade?
- Throughout history the spade has been used as a symbol to represent many things.
- Hard work, labor, courage, war, seasons, and as we all know, it is typically the highest card that can be played in many card games.
- Seasons of life will bring an army of challenges and require various responses and actions from us.
- Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven."
- The spade is our reminder to always play our best hand despite what we're dealt and to remember that our God goes before us, He prepares us, and He strengthens us.
- Our lives, our families, our calling, are a gift from God and we will embrace the charge given us to follow Christ, and to lead where we stand.
- Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
- We were created for such a time as this.
Our Battle Lines
The Battle Lines are 7 non-negotiables that shape the ethos of The Grit and Co. and direct our decision making within our lives, families, and business.
UNTO THE GRAVE
Unto the grave, we persist. We will fight to uphold the commitment we've made to ourselves, our families, and to God.
The spade on the skull represents the legacy, the impact, we strive to pass down to our children and to others. It is "imprinted" on our minds and our hearts. We believe that our actions today, can have significant impact on generations.
The skull and sword stands as a reminder of our resolution and responsibility everyday. From the time we wake up until we lie down, our duty is to spread the Word of God and serve our families. Daily, we will fight the fight to lead, to protect, to grow, to serve, and defend truth, unto the grave.
"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character hope" Romans 5:3-4
SWING THE AXE
A big tree doesn't come down with one swing of the axe, it's the repeated blows that bring it to the ground. Relentless exertion, disciplined repetition, and unyielding commitment produce success.
God's directives, our lives, goals, growth, families, and dreams... whatever it may be, require an unrelenting resolve to triumph.
In our lives we will confront giants, we will face locked doors, and we will have to break free of our own shackles.
Labor is demanded, fight is required, we start where we stand.
Swing The Axe.
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us" Hebrews 12:1
