Be the same in the quiet that you are in the crowd. The same grit in the dark when no one's watching as you are when eyes are on you. Be real, be raw, be honest. Be authentic. That means no pretending, no rehearsed strength, no fake tough guy act. Just honesty, struggles, scars, and all.
It is so much easier said than done but it would do us all well to remember that we all share in many of the same struggle and fights.
This means not bending to appease wrong. Letting your yes be yes and no be no, even when it costs you something. It means keeping your soul clean, not just your image, and when your children watch... when the next person down the line needs someone to follow, Hopefully they'll see a life in progress, one that's carved out of the good, bad, and ugly.
Hopefully they see something real, and they see living proof of God's grace.
Let the world chase the polish, stay authentic.
